A small company that builds software, and one pilot who kept telling us what was actually missing.
Where the data comes from
The operator list is the FAA’s own Part 135 certificate file —
1,795 certificate holders, rebuilt from the live source each week. That is a strictly larger
set than the operators advertising on any given day, which is the whole reason to start
from it.
Requirements are read from operators’ own published material, recorded
with the page and the date, and re-checked within 120 days. We hold sourced requirements for
18 operators today and are adding them steadily. We would rather say that plainly than
imply we hold all 1,795 — the operator list and the requirement records are different
things, and only one of them is complete.
Two things worth knowing about this data
The obvious FAA download is five years stale
The widely-cited Part 135 aircraft file still serves a copy last modified in November
2021, with no error to say so. Anything built on that link is quietly serving 2021.
We use the live path.
Brand names are not certificate names
Contour Airlines files as Corporate Flight Management, Inc.; JSX as Delux Public
Charter LLC. Matching a posting to an operator by brand name silently misses the
operator, so the certificate name is the key throughout.

Talk to Pilot PlacerAnswers, not a brochure
Tell me where you are — flying already, in training, or just
working out whether to start — and I'll tell you what actually stands between you and
the certificate. If I don't know something, I'll say so rather than guess.
